Founded in 2008 by visionary Guru Prafulla Behera, SUPREETAM is one of Odisha’s leading cultural organizations, located in Dakhin Praharaj Pur, Jaleswar, near the Odisha-West Bengal border and the holy river Subarnarekha. Dedicated to preserving the rich artistic heritage of the region, SUPREETAM is a collective of 50 committed members working to uplift and empower tribal communities through culture and skill development. Recognizing the socio-economic challenges faced by tribal groups—particularly in remote areas where access to education, resources and government support is minimal—SUPREETAM focuses on holistic growth. The institution offers vocational training in pottery, carpentry and sewing, fostering creativity while building life skills and self-reliance. This dual approach—nurturing artists and empowering individuals—makes SUPREETAM a beacon of hope and a model for cultural and community-based development.

Our classical dance and music courses are open to learners of all age groups. Our vocational workshops (like sewing and pottery) specifically prioritize youth and women from local tribal communities to support their livelihoods.
All vocational skill development programs and outreach workshops are completely free for tribal and low-income students. Our general classical art courses have a nominal maintenance fee to support our Gurus and run our facilities.
100% of donations directly go toward buying training materials (sewing machines, raw clay, art kits, instruments), organizing student showcases, and supporting our grassroots mentors.
Our primary training hub is located in Odisha, and we operate multiple community outreach centers in remote tribal villages to ensure accessibility for students in distant areas.
